With its unique compact design, an innovative flow diverter that enhances hydraulic conditions and improved performance, the new WEDECO Quadron™ ultra violet (UV) system offers assurance for safe drinking water in applications with space constraints.
The new UV system boasts a footprint of just 1,200mm (47in, 24in) x 1,448mm (57in) and includes patented OptiCone™ flow diverter technology that ensures optimal disinfection performance, independent of any changes to the inflow rate, while constantly maintaining a low water head loss.
The WEDECO Quadron is the first medium pressure UV system available in the UK to have been fully validated under the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM 2006) providing the latest best and safe practice for medium pressure systems. The Quadron has been tested to flows up to 4,100m3/hr (26 MGD) and UV transmissivity as low as 65%.
Undergoing such an extensive third-party validation process gave WEDECO the opportunity to address important safety considerations that influence the disinfection performance of the new medium pressure UV system design. This allows applications with less space, the ability to receive the performance, durability and safety that can be expected from any WEDECO system.
Beatrice Martin, UK sales manager for WEDECO, commented: "The Quadron completes WEDECO’s range of UV disinfection systems for potable water applications. There was a clear need for a UV solution with a smaller footprint and waterworks with space constraints are sure to find this new compact system invaluable."
