Metito to build new wastewater treatment plant in Dubai

Dubai-based water management solution provider Metito has been awarded a contract by Saudi developer Tanmiyat Group for the Living Legends community wastewater treatment project.

Metito will be responsible for design and build of the underground sewage treatment plant, which will be built at new Dubailand development.

Located along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the plant will use latest membrane bio reactor (MBR) technologies for treating wastewater or sewage.

The planned facility is expected to treat 3,600m³ of domestic waste a day. The treated water from the plant will mainly be used for irrigational purposes and occasional district cooling requirements.

Metito Group business development director Bassem Halabi said: "The Living Legends community in Dubailand is one of the latest and most exciting projects at this burgeoning area of Dubai and we are confident that this collaboration will add sustainable value to this project."
